Prof. Georgios Miaoulis, HDR (Habilité à Diriger des Recherches) received an Engineering degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1977, an postgraduate Diploma in Informatics and Organisation from CNAM, Paris-France and an MSc (DEA) in Quantitative Methods from EHESS Paris-France, a PhD in Medical Informatics from University of Crete, Greece and a PhD and an HDR in Informatics from University of Limoges, France.
He worked at Construction Industry and at Public Administration as Informatics Specialist. Since 1987 is a member of staff of Informatics Department of TEI of Athens and from 1998 as a Full Professor..
He was Head of the department (1995-98) and from 2007 is the Head of the International Joint Master of the department concerning multimedia, internet technology, and digital image, visiting professor at the University of Limoges (from 1996), visiting researcher at the University of Arizona in Touscon USA (1993), Responsible for the International Inter-University Partnerships at the Department of Informatics.
He has participated in several research and development projects, as project leader or researcher and has numerous contributions (more than 80) to international Journals, Conferences and Collective Volumes. He has supervised ten (10) Doctoral Dissertations. He is Co-Editor of the Springer series of volumes Artificial Intelligence Techniques for Computer Graphics and Co-Chair of the International Conference of Computer Graphics and Artificial Intelligence (3IA).
His research interests include intelligent information systems and image-based systems in various application fields (medical, engineering, education etc).
He was honoured with the medal of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques, by the French Republic in 2012.
